Chestnuts not only taste good, they benefit the stomach, intestine and kidney

Ingredients:

  • 2 pairs of chicken wings, cleaned and separated into drumettes and wingettes
  • 6 dried shiitake mushrooms, soaked
  • 6 chestnuts, boiled and peeled
  • Ginger, matchstick strips (julienne)
  • 1 tbsp Chinese cooking wine
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • Salt 
  • Sugar
  • Oil, for frying
  • Water

  1. Marinade the chicken wings with cooking wine, cornstarch and salt. Set aside for about 10-15 minutes.
  2. Heat oil and saute wings until both sides are lightly brown. Set aside.
  3. In the same wok, add oil and stir-fry ginger and soaked mushrooms til fragrant. Toss in the chestnuts and wings. Fry til cooked.
  4. Add in adequate water, oyster sauce, salt and sugar. Bring to boil and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Serve hot.
